meet the doctorDr. Diane Yu Davis

Dr. Davis was born in Taiwan and moved to Paraguay with her family for 6 years. There she learned Spanish and the Hispanic culture and dances. When she was 8 she moved to Southern California. She became interested in optometry when she started working in the field when she was 18 years old. She started studying Biology at the University of California Irvine in 1993 and the following year received a fellowship grant to conduct with a reforestation research in Costa Rica.

Dr. Diane Yu-Davis at Vision Source Austin truly takes the time to care for her patients! During my exam, she took a bunch of photos and short videos of my eyes so she could actually show me what was going on instead of just telling me. It made everything so much easier to understand. When it came to prescribing meds — eye drops, a hydrating sleep mask for dry eyes, for example— she was really thoughtful about cost too, checking whether my insurance would cover things and even offering trial packages so I could try a product before committing to buying it from the manufacturer. That kind of consideration really stood out to me. She also makes sure you actually remember her instructions — she even encouraged me to record her on my phone while she explained things, so I could go back and rewatch later if I forgot anything. You can tell her patients stick with her because she genuinely cares. Highly recommend!
